“The Great Budget Escape” for Gloucestershire businesses

The Great Budget Escape will take place on Wednesday 28 October from 12pm to 3pm at Fox’s Kiln, West Quay, Gloucester GL1 2LG The Docks, offering a refreshing alternative to the traditional format of watching the Budget unfold live before being told what it means.

Rather than dedicating the afternoon to screens and commentary, the event is designed around conversation and connection. Guests will spend the day networking with other Gloucestershire business owners, with just five minutes set aside for a concise briefing on anything genuinely significant announced in the Budget. The remainder of the afternoon is reserved for meeting new people, exchanging ideas, and strengthening ties across the local business community.

The agenda includes two interactive sessions designed to encourage open dialogue. In “The One Thing that is Holding Me Back,” attendees can anonymously, or openly, share the barrier they feel is limiting their progress, with responses drawn at random and discussed as a group. Later, “Ideas Worth Stealing” invites guests to share a tip, tool, or approach that has worked well for them, giving everyone in the room at least one practical idea to take away and put into action.

The format reflects a simple belief: that most successful businesses are built on relationships, not government announcements.
