Our Charity of the Year

We are delighted to take this opportunity to announce that our chosen Charity for 2019 is the Cheltenham branch of Maggie’s!
Maggie’s is a charity that provides free cancer support and information in their 22 centres across the UK and online. Most of us know someone who has suffered from cancer so we are proud to support Maggie’s and the work they do.
Background
Founded in 1996 in the grounds of an NHS hospital in Edinburgh Maggie’s is named after their inspirational founder, Maggie Keswick Jencks.
Maggie lived with advanced cancer for two years and used her experiences to create a blueprint for a new type of care. Her belief that “above all, what matters is not to lose the joy of living in the fear of dying” has informed everything at our centres, from the beautiful architecture and choice of artwork to the relaxed, welcoming layouts and our warm friendly approach.
We are looking forward to working closely with Maggie’s over the coming year, not only to help raise money to support their centres but also to help raise awareness of the inspirational work that they do and so that they can continue to provide support to people living with cancer and their families.
