2015 really is the BIG YEAR for Gloucester!
As a local business supporting the community, Tayntons is looking forward to some spectacular events within Gloucester in 2015; the biggest event by far being the Rugby World Cup. Many regeneration projects have already commenced around the city in view of the upcoming boom in tourism and we applaud this positive change.
Tayntons were very lucky to have Adam Balding, former Gloucester Rugby star and the City’s Rugby World Cup 2015 events co-ordinator, as a guest speaker at our Curry Club in October 2014. Adam gave an inspirational speech as to how individuals and business from Gloucester will benefit from the city holding the Rugby World Cup.
From live music to cultural festivals and sculpture walks, Gloucester’s BIG YEAR campaign has something for everyone. Iconic figures will be gracing Gloucester with their presence such as the legend Sir Elton John performing at Kingsholm Stadium, along with ‘Scrumpty’ the Rugby World Cup mascot who will be adorning the city’s streets to form a sculpture trail throughout the summer of 2015.
A list of upcoming events include:-
- Rugby World Cup
- ‘Scrumpty’ Sculpture Trail
- Sir Elton John concert at Kingsholm Stadium
- Sportbeat Festival
- Tall Ships Festival
- Strike a Light Festival
To show our support Tayntons are co-sponsoring a lunchtime event at Sebz Tapas Restaurant on Wednesday 4th March 2015, to give local businesses an update on ‘Gloucester’s Big Year 2015’, what’s happening and how they might be able to get involved. Please do let us know if you are interested in attending.
We hope that everyone will join us and support Gloucester’s Big Year.
