November 7, 2016
Tayntons hosted their fourth Court of Protection seminar at The Chase Hotel on Thursday 3rd November 2016. This is a bi-yearly event that has proved to be very successful with not only other lawyers but medical professionals and care homes personnel for both young and old. The speakers were our very own Janine Guthrie who give an interesting yet extraordinary insight into what actually happens when an Attorney or Deputy turns ‘bad’. We also heard from Psychiatrist Dr Paul Divall, who explained how capacity assessments are actually undertaken and what you need to consider and Claire Wills-Goldingham QC from Colleton Chambers who provided us with an interesting insight into Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards affecting 16-18 year olds. We hope the attendees found this seminar beneficial and we will of course keep you posted with the date of our next Seminar which is likely to be May 2017. If you should wish to be informed of upcoming events relating to the Court of Protection, then please contact Shannon Richards at Shannon.Richards@tayntons.co.uk or on 01452 222454.
