Richard Thomas qualified as a Solicitor in 1987 having previously attended the College of Law at Guildford.
Richard joined Tayntons in 2012 and has over 30 years experience within the profession. He has specialised in Private Client matters for over 20 years, practising chiefly within Monmouth, Hereford and Gloucester.
Richard deals with Will drafting involving tax planning and asset protection plus the administration of both Estates and Trusts. Of particular interest to Richard is the welfare of the elderly in which he advises on both the creation and registration of various types of Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection Deputyships plus dealing with the administration of the affairs of elderly clients resident in care.
Having been awarded the Diploma in Trusts and Estates in 2015, Richard is also a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Outside the work environment, Richard is married with a daughter at University furthering research analysis with a view to completing a Doctorate in Criminology. With a lifelong addiction to sport, Richard is an ardent supporter of both Bristol Rugby and Somerset County Cricket. In addition, he competes regularly for Monmouth Rowing Club. Richard also serves as the former patient representative on the South West UK (SWUK) Burns Network Board.
On the cultural side, Richard has a keen interest in international affairs and history, reading thrillers and listening to various forms of music, particularly Jazz.
