There’s Never A Wrong Time To Make A Will

A Will is our only opportunity to ensure we leave to our loved ones the gifts and possessions we would want them to have. But it’s surprising how many people put off this important decision.
When we are young, we don’t feel the need. When we are older, life is usually more complicated. Perhaps we don’t want to tempt fate.

At Tayntons, we understand the sensitivities of preparing your first Will, at whatever age you decide. So our specialist advisers will guide you through the process. From drafting and writing your Will, to registering it, to keeping it up to date. They will also explain the implications of not preparing a Will.

Drafting and writing your Will
Writing a Will is obviously a very personal matter, so you will receive very personal help. The same solicitor will work with you at every stage, meeting with you initially to discuss your wishes, then preparing a draft, then completing and registering it once you have given your approval.

Keeping your Will up to date
It is important to keep your Will up to date. This will ensure that it continues to reflect your wishes and any change in your personal circumstances. This can include getting married. Or deciding to live with a partner. Having children. Separation or divorce. Starting or buying into a business. Even inheriting something yourself.

Intestacy
In circumstances where there is no Will, the estate is divided in accordance with the Law of Intestacy. This may mean that your personal wishes will not be known or honoured. It will also place an added and unnecessary burden on your loved ones.

The cost of making a Will
We charge set fees for drafting and completing straightforward Wills. For those that are more complex, we will provide you with an estimate beforehand. This means you will always know the total cost before you start the process.
