Clinical negligence

All medical treatment carries an element of risk. Clinical negligence (previously known as medical negligence) occurs when a health care professional provided a service that was below standard, causing physical injury or subsequent illness. These can include GPs, hospital staff, nurses, dentists and many more such as therapists and cosmetic surgeons.

Clinical negligence claims can involve problems with a medical diagnosis, such as a delay or failure to treat a condition which has lead to injury or illness. They also include cases where the treatment has gone wrong, as in surgical errors or the handling of fractured bones.

Whatever the injury, if you or a family member believe you’ve suffered an illness or injury as a result of clinical negligence, you may be eligible to make a claim for compensation. It’s one of the most complex areas of personal injury law and you’ll need an experienced solicitor to help you build a concrete case. Time limitation periods apply so you should seek advice as soon as possible.

With many years’ experience in handling personal injury claims, our solicitors understand the physical, emotional and financial stress that you may have suffered as a result of the accident. We’ll take into consideration a range of losses and any recovery or rehabilitation period that you or a family member have needed or may still require.

To find out more about your potential compensation claim, contact the team now to take advantage of a free initial consultation. There’s no obligation to take your claim further and we’ll talk you through the levels of compensation and funding options available.
