Shared ownerships
Shared ownerships are becoming increasingly popular as more and more people are finding it difficult to get on the property ladder.
We advise clients who are considering part-ownership/part-rental deals to help ensure they can commit to something sensibly within their budget. We also advise those who may be looking to purchase a property with a friend.
Co-habiting couples
Unmarried couples aren't protected by law in the same way that married couples or civil partners are and it is only when the relationship breaks down, or sadly someone dies that this is ever realised. Through our Family team we can offer advice on ownership, joint tenancies and trust deeds if you are buying a home with someone you aren't married to. The team can also help you with co-habitation and separation agreements.
You may also want to consider making or updating a Will to ensure that your assets are properly taken care of in the event of yours or a partner's death. Speak to our Wills & Probate team for further advice, or you can call 0800 389 7203 for any of our services.
Transfer of equity
The transfer of equity is where a person either wants to add or remove a name from the Title of a property, as in the case of a marriage or separation. If you're not changing mortgage company, it's likely that you will need the consent of the lender to add or remove a person to their security.
Whichever service you need, our residential property team can help you through every step of the home ownership process.
We've completed the sale and purchase of many different properties including new builds, apartments, houses and bungalows. We deal with average homes to prime property transactions regionally, in London and the rest of the UK.
Clients don't always need to visit us as much of our work is done through post or email but we will establish a close dialogue with you, offering an online case tracking facility for those that prefer to do business out-of-hours.
