Rachel is a member of Resolution, the organisation which advocates a non-confrontational approach to family breakdown, and is a member of the Law Society’s accredited Family Law Panel. She has significant experience in the court system and has represented clients before the High Court.
Rachel joins Tayntons’ growing family law team which offers legal advice in all areas of family-related matters. The experts help clients to resolve property, financial and children issues when relationships break down, and also assist unmarried couples and those at the beginning of a relationship to protect their future through a range of cohabitation, separation and prenuptial agreements.
Commenting on her appointment, Rachel says: “Tayntons is a thriving law firm with a marked reputation for family law in the region and I am delighted to be joining the successful team already in place here. With anticipated changes to the country’s family law system in relation to pre-nuptial agreements and divorce settlements, I look forward to these new challenges and helping clients to navigate these changes to protect their financial futures.”
Head of family law at Tayntons, Chris Price, says: “We are delighted to welcome Rachel to the team. She brings a wealth of experience and specialist knowledge which will add to the depth and range of expertise already in place here. The team is seeing increasing interest in pre-nuptial agreements following the new legal precedent which makes them legally binding in the English courts. Rachel will be a valuable addition to the department as we continue to grow our services across the region.”
Rachel trained and qualified as a solicitor in 1995 at a law practice in London’s east end. Her subsequent move to Gloucestershire saw her taking up roles at law practices Linda Stapleton & Co and James Cook Solicitors in Gloucester.
Rachel is now based in Tayntons’ Clarence Street office in Gloucester working alongside Chris Price, Helen Duthie and Elizabeth Lacey in the family law team.
