Tayntons LLP Solicitors appoints new partner

5th January 2009 12:25

Tayntons LLP Solicitors has recently appointed Helen Moore as partner. Helen, who heads the employment team, first joined the firm as an associate in May 2007, launching the new department which has since seen unprecedented growth.

Helen, who lives in Worcester, began her career in the West Midlands, gaining experience at Legal 500 listed Higgs & Sons before moving to a specialist employment law practice in Leamington.

At Gloucester-based Tayntons LLP, Helen will continue to lead the employment team with ambitions to expand the private client work alongside development of the corporate interest. She has already been integral in building proactive partnerships with businesses and HR professionals in the region amidst an economic climate which is becoming increasingly difficult for both employers and employees.

Commenting on her appointment as partner, Helen said, “I am delighted to join the partnership. Tayntons LLP is a firm of solicitors which is unique in its approach. It is full of integrity, with forward thinking people who are not afraid of new ideas. The employment team’s success has been down to its hard work and commitment to rarely turn a client away. I believe that this culture will help us to drive the success of the firm in the difficult times predicted for 2009.”

Recently at Tayntons, Helen advised multiple claimants against a national airline after a dispute arose over their terms and conditions following a TUPE transfer. She has also managed a number of high profile disability discrimination claims, advising most recently a number of former employees of the Royal College for the Blind, featuring on BBC Midlands Today in November for comment.

Helen’s appointment coincides with additional changes within the firm’s partnership framework, which sees Martin Edden, managing partner of eight years stepping down for Andrew Ollerenshaw to take up the reins.

“Helen is a technically excellent employment lawyer with a genuine desire to help clients in difficulty. She has played a major part in establishing a very successful department within Tayntons and her enthusiasm for growth will help us to take the practice to the next level.” Andrew commented.

“Although well established, we at Tayntons recognise the need to refresh our approach to remain competitive in the marketplace. Our services are comprehensive but we continually strive to meet the demands of the client and Helen’s appointment as partner reinforces our commitment to expansion,” he added.
