Six steps to move into your new home before Christmas

Jim Cook, one of the Conveyancing Partners based at Tayntons LLP, Gloucester City Centre firm of Solicitors has acted for a number of people buying property on the popular Lioncourt Homes development Kings View at Kingsway, Gloucester.    Jim advises that to get things moving quickly and to achieve successful completion of the transaction before Christmas you should:-

1. Return all forms which, will be sent to you by your legal adviser at the outset, immediately, ensuring they are completed and signed.  This means that your legal adviser can start the legal process promptly.
2. Pay your legal adviser for the search fees; preferably by credit card as this will enable the searches to be applied for immediately.  Cheques take a week to clear.
3. Deal with any matters raised by your financial adviser or lender by return.
4. Make yourself available at short notice to sign the necessary papers.
5. Make sure that any deposit is in a bank account capable of sending a CHAPS transfer (sometimes called a Same Day Transfer).
6. Contact Lioncourt Homes or myself if you encounter any delays for any reason as soon as you can.  All the professionals helping you are working on your purchase at the same time, so it is vital to communicate!
