17th August 2009 13:38

The skills of a Gloucestershire solicitor have been recognised by the UK’s leading family law group – Resolution. Helen Duthie, family lawyer at Tayntons LLP Solicitors has recently gained Resolution accredited specialist status.

Helen Duthie, who has been qualified in family law for nearly six years, has helped hundreds of couples and families facing divorce or separation. With an in depth understanding of how relationship conflict can negatively affect the family unit, Helen passed her examinations in private children law and in domestic abuse to gain her specialist status under the Resolution scheme.

Originally set up in 1999, the scheme is designed to help people who are facing family breakdown to make an informed choice when deciding which lawyer to appoint. To become a Resolution accredited specialist, lawyers have to agree to uphold the Resolution code of practice and will need to have passed stringent tests of expertise in at least two areas of family law.

Helen, one of a growing number of lawyers to achieve Resolution specialist accreditation joins Tayntons LLP Partner, Christopher Price who is a member of the scheme. She comments: “Resolution members encourage a non-confrontational approach to resolving family disputes. We understand that family units can vary considerably and so the right advice and support from skilled professionals is essential.

“Tayntons LLP acts for parents facing divorce or separation on a daily basis, some in a more dangerous environment than others and we help them to regain control of the situation. As part of the process, we’ll encourage them to understand the positive effects of parental cooperation and the subsequent impact it will have, both on their children and their finances.”

The family, divorce and children team at Tayntons LLP advises on all aspects of law relating to divorce, separation and children. Whether married or not, you can find out more by calling 0800 389 7203 or click on the link.
