Support ‘Will Aid’ with local solicitors Tayntons LLP based in Clarence Street, Gloucester who are participating in the campaign again this year. Their Wills & Probate experts will prepare straightforward Wills ‘free of charge’ and in return those participating will be invited to make a donation to the Will Aid Charity. The level of the donation is up to you but the Charity suggests £75.00 for a single Will and £110.00 for two mirror Wills.
Will Aid is an umbrella charity which raises money for Action Aid, The British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Help the Aged, the NSPCC, Save the Children UK, Sightsavers International, SCIAT and Trocaire. Since Tayntons LLP first participated in the Will Aid Campaign they have raised over £9,000 in donations.
This year, Tayntons LLP are going the ‘extra mile’ by offering people who make Wills under the Will Aid Campaign (which runs throughout November) the opportunity to complete one unregistered Lasting Power of Attorney for a significantly discounted price of £150.00 + VAT.
Martin Roberts explains that “Enduring Powers of Attorney used to be very popular and useful but since a change in the law which took affect on the 1st October 2007, it hasn’t been possible for any new ones to be completed. To avoid a Court of Protection application if you haven’t got an EPA and you become incapable of making decisions for yourself, the only option is a Lasting Power of Attorney. These are complex and costly documents to put in place and as a result very few are completed. For some people, the importance of these documents can’t be emphasised enough and cost is a factor. Tayntons LLP want to allow people the opportunity to put these arrangements in place for the future by offering a significant saving on our normal charges during the Will Aid Campaign”
