Lawyer Janine Guthrie returns to her Gloucester roots

Janine Guthrie-fixedLawyer Janine Guthrie has returned to her Gloucestershire roots after working with a top Legal 100 law firm in London.

Janine says she is delighted to have joined Gloucester law firm Tayntons as a Chartered Legal Executive and is now living in Hucclecote where she grew up.

After attending Ribston Hall High School for Girls, Gloucester, Janine went on to study at Trinity College of Music, London and became a professional viola player performing with various orchestras.

But she decided music was not the path she wanted to follow as a career and instead went into the legal profession. She became a Chartered Legal Executive at a top London law firm but decided Gloucestershire was where she wanted to live and work.

I want to develop my career here in Gloucestershire. It had taken off in London but this is where I want to be, said Janine.

Gloucestershire has the scenery, the pace of life and the people I like to be with. Gloucester has a tremendous history and is a great city to be a part of. I think there is a lot of opportunity here.

I had heard very good reports about Tayntons as a forward moving law firm with a good reputation.

Janine specialises in private client work including wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, probate and capacity including deputyship applications. She stressed how important it was to plan for the future as people get older.

Janine added, What I like about the type of law I specialise in is that it is very human. I like to build a relationship with my clients, I think that is important. Janine’s partner is a professional photographer and her interests include target shooting and enjoying the countryside. She plans to return to her hobbies of wood turning and craftwork and hopes to join a local orchestra.
