Remortgages
We'll nearly all have to remortgage at some point in the future, whether to secure a better rate from an alternative lender or to free up some funds against the value of the property. Mortgage lenders often include free legal advice within their packages but the solicitor they use is inevitably acting on behalf of the lender only. An independent solicitor will act for both the lender and the borrower and some mortgage companies have an 'opt-out' and cash back facility which can in turn contribute to any legal fees.
