Taking on the Will writers

Tayntons Wills, Trusts & Probate team are currently dealing with a high value estate and the previous misdemeanors of a Will writing company.

Subjected to a ‘hard sell’, our client and her husband committed to products that they were not entirely happy with. They decided to have new Wills drawn up but unfortunately the husband died unexpectedly, with his last Will being that completed by the Will writing company. Following the husband’s death, Tayntons were instructed by three of the four executors who did not want to work with the Will writers. The Will writing company had however ensured that they were one of the executors and so attempted to manage the financial aspects of the administration, against the wishes of all involved.

What happened next?

The company ignored the requests and instructions made by Tayntons and demonstrated an unprofessional attitude throughout the management of the estate. Unlike law firms, Will writers are unregulated which allows some of them to behave improperly but thanks to persistent instruction, Tayntons now hold the client’s Will, title deeds and their LPAs.
